Bay Area Film Series

Backyard Films is a regular film screening and party featuring a slate of short films by local filmmakers. Our goal is to showcase great short films that don’t often get the distribution they deserve in fun, non-traditional venues and to have an awesome time doing it.  Scroll down for info about our upcoming screening, check out films from our past screenings, and learn how to submit your short film.

Submit your film

We’re looking for films of any genre (documentary, narrative, animation, experimental) ideally 10 minutes or less, but we won’t rule anything out because of length.  Send us your film!

Submissions are ongoing and we review a few times throughout the year to see what will fit best with our future events.  As working filmmakers ourselves, we aren’t always able to respond in a timely manner, but we will eventually reach out.  If your film was not included in the most immediate show after your submission, it does not mean that we won’t consider it (due to theme, length, or other reasons) for a future show.
